What we do if the e-Way Bill Expires ?

What we do if the e-Way Bill Expires ?

How would one extend the Validity of e Way Bill if it expires mid-way or when the goods are in transit?

If the validity of the e-Way Bill expires, the goods can’t be moved. However, under the circumstances of exceptional nature and trans-shipment, the Goods Transport Operator needs to extend the validity period, only after updating or furnishing the reason for the extension and the details in Part B of EWB.

It’s important for us to understand that the Goods Transport Agency or GTA, can extend
the validity of the e-Way Bill only 4 hours prior or u
p to 4 hours after the expiry of the e-Way Bill.

The Goods Transport Operator has to enter the e-Way Bill no and provide the reason for requesting an extension of the

e-Way Bill from the goods’ current position and approximate distance which is yet to be travelled towards the final destination.

The system offers extension on the basis of the balance distance which is yet to be covered.
